Tiernan OʼNeill is an Ireland-based electronic music producer & DJ. With early releases on labels such as Hollandʼs Armada & Jaytechʼs Red Seven imprint, his melodic house sound has garnered a wide range of support from a host of DJʼs such as Paul van Dyk, Judge Jules & Jaytech. Tiernan’s music has also had multiple plays on BBC Radio 1.
Having been first bitten by the ‘dance-music’ bug as a youngster, listening to old skool & hardcore mix-tapes in the mid 90ʼs, Tiernan purchased a set of decks and began collecting vinyl regularly, hoping at some stage to share his music with an audience. He eventually took a residency playing a wide selection of music to punters at a small club in his local city. And over recent years Tiernan has secured return gigs at highly reputable clubs & venues including Judgement Sundays & Savannahs in Ibiza, along with regular trips to Scotland to play at packed underground nightspots in Glasgow.
As for the transition into music production, Tiernan cites influences such as early Paul van Dyk albums, 90ʼs house & artists like Ulrich Schnauss, Sven Vath, Gabriel Ananda & Kraftwerk as having a formative impact on his musical direction. One of Tiernanʼs latest studio offerings, “Conor” (dedicated to a friend), is signed to Tactal Hots Music and features a stunning remix from Anjunadeep legend, PROFF.
Tiernanʼs outlook to the future is simple “I want to continue producing dance music and I really enjoy playing out in clubs. Since starting work as a sound engineer [Tiernan also works as a live sound engineer on big theatre performances], I feel really lucky to be able to work with talented musicians and have access to lots of musical equipment on a daily basis. ”
